Canon EOS M Camera Review

Shopping for a quality camera has traditionally meant choosing between a portable point-and-shoot camera and a professional single lens reflex, or SLR, camera.

The EOS M features Canon’s DIGIC 5 digital image processor with exposure speed of between ISO 100 and ISO 25600, so it can accurately capture and reproduce images from a variety of situations and lighting conditions. If you take a lot of photos in low light conditions or of moving objects, the EOS M will work well for your needs.

The Canon EOS M comes with a starter lens, but it is compatible with any lens from the Canon EF and EF-S family. If you have professional Canon photography gear, you will likely be able to use your existing lenses with the new EOS M. The EOS M can even autofocus your shot, so you will never have another blurry picture.

Once you take a photo with it, you can view and edit the picture right on the camera’s 3-inch touchscreen display. You can apply digital filters like soft focus, grainy, black and white, toy, and water painting effects. Using the same gestures you already use on other mobile devices, you can also move, zoom, edit and crop images. You can even use the touchscreen to get better pictures by tapping to focus or to release the shutter.

Of course, the EOS M takes far more than still pictures. Unlike many other SLR cameras, the EOS M can capture and store high definition video. In full HD, the camera can record up to 22 minutes of video on an 8 GB memory card. With continuous autofocus and tracking, the EOS M also ensures that your video stays in focus regardless of the subject.
