How to Shop USA Stores and Ship Home to the United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has always been a popular market for USA goods, but with customs regulations changing frequently this is a good overview for our British customers. We're here to help you ship from the USA smarter and as cost-effectively as possible! In our Ship Globally section of our website, you will find plenty of helpful tools like a shipping rate calculator, current exchange rates and prohibited items. In our United Kingdom shipping section you’ll find information about package transit times and duty and tax details and shipping information specific to England and the UK.

Given that these regulations can change frequently, your local customs office will always be the best source of information. Our guide, however, will help give you a general idea of what is and isn't permitted.

In the United Kingdom, prohibited commodities are listed as antiques and fine art with values over 50,000EUR, imitation firearms, loose lithium batteries and printing equipment. There are certain restrictions surrounding the value of items such costume jewelry valued at over 1,000EU per shipment, designer clothing and accessories valued at over 250EU per shipment and drugs and pharmaceuticals valued at 1,000EU per shipment. Electronic items are limited at two per shipment, laptops are limited at one per shipment and mobile phones at two per shipment. Your MyUS.com account manager can help you further with items such as those or you can check out our shipping FAQs for more information.

Average transit times to ship from the USA to United Kingdom range from 2-4 days for express shipping depending on delivery area. DHL, FedEx or USPS are options for which you can choose to have your items shipped.

The British Duty/Tax Free amounts are the declared value of your shipment of which duty and tax will not apply. For the United Kingdom, you are able to import shipments with a total declared value of less than 120GBP, without paying a duty or tax.
